PREZODE (Preventing Zoonotic Disease Emergence) is an innovative international initiative with the ambition to understand the risks of emergence of zoonotic infectious diseases, to develop and implement innovative methods to improve prevention, early detection, and resilience in order to ensure rapid response to the risks of emerging infectious diseases of animal origin.

The discussions raised awareness on the similarities between drivers of zoonosis emergence and drivers of climate change, the need to reduce the risks through a change in paradigm, co-development of solutions with all stakeholders, and concrete actions, such as communities’ engagement, livestock management and responses to food security.

Governments and non-state actors came together in Egypt from 6-18 November, 2022 to tackle the challenge of climate change.
