Title: Enhancing Productivity of Multi-Purpose Gardens in Sengwe Community of Zimbabwe Within the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area.

Summary 

To-design a context specific horticulture development framework for Sengwe communal area, in the face of a changing climate. 

An investigative survey was carried out through administration of questionnaires and conducting of focus group discussions. This was followed by a participatory experiment on possible inter-crop combinations in the Multipurpose Gardens in which sweet potatoes were intercropped with maize, okra and cow peas to establish beneficial combinations that will conserve soil, maximise on resource utilisation as well as improving crop yields. 

The ultimate objective is to benefit the community in food, nutrition and income security.
